It’s Grand Theft Auto VI’s second trailer that we’re all hoping will imminently land.
Yet instead, we’ve received a surprise update for Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online.
Update 1.70 has officially rolled out across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

I don’t want you to get too excited about this because the update is about as minor as they come.
That being said, it’s incredible to see Rockstar Games actually still supporting the base game considering it launched all the way back in 2013.
Especially when you compare it to something like Hogwarts Legacy.
That was 2023’s best-selling title and yet, developers have only dropped a handful of patches across the last year - and there’s practically nothing in the form of post-launch content outside of a Photo Mode.

GTA VI’s first trailer remains the only out there.
The ongoing nature of GTA Online perhaps makes the continuation of support less surprising, but I digress.
As for what Update 1.70 entails, well, it fixed an issue “that resulted in the cargo plane not being removed after the crash scene during the Black Box File Finale”.

Specifically on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, the update also fixed “a set of issues which were resulting in crashes when playing GTA Online”, as well as “an issue that resulted in a crash when playing ‘Gather Intel’ for The Cayo Perico Heist on Xbox Series X/S consoles”.
Finally, the update addressed an issue “that resulted in a crash when playing the mission 'Pack Man' in GTA V on Xbox Series X/S consoles”.
As I said, this is by no means a revolutionary update but for anyone who these issues were affecting, I’m sure you’ll be glad to know those bugs have been squashed.
If you’re sitting there shouting, “Yes, but what of GTA VI’s second trailer?”, I’m as in the dark as you.

Take-Two Interactive is due to hold its next earnings call soon though on 6 February so perhaps we can all clown then.
