'GTA 5' Easter Egg May Have Been Teasing 'GTA 6' For The Last Ten Years

A Los Santos billboard appears to have teased GTA VI almost a decade ago.

Last week’s Grand Theft Auto VI news drop certainly has got the hype train chugging along. I say news drop, it was more of a leak but it was welcomed by GTA fans nonetheless. In case you missed it, which I hardly doubt, it was reported that GTA VI would feature a female protagonist and be set in Vice City.

It was also claimed that GTA VI would release between April 2023 and March 2024, and feature a “cleaned up” tone to reflect Rockstar Games’ internal culture overhaul. How would you feel though if I told you that this information was already right under our noses, and has been for the past nine years?

This incredible fan-modded version of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, could give us a taste of what GTA VI might look like.

Grand Theft Auto V released back in 2013 and fans think that the game has been hiding a GTA VI easter egg this entire time. Let’s rewind just a second. I mentioned a potential female protagonist. Rumours suggest that this character would be part of a Bonnie and Clyde style duo, which leads us on to the easter egg.

GTA V’s setting, Los Santos, is full of billboards and Reddit user 32ozicedcoffeewcream noticed one that’s taken on a different meaning since the GTA VI leaks were released. The poster advertises ‘Vice The Musical’ and appears to feature a silhouetted man and woman recreating a Dirty Dancing style lift. Caught on yet? Bonnie and Clyde-esque duo? Tick. Vice City setting? Tick. This billboard is surely an easter egg for GTA VI.

The billboard also features the dates 14 August to 20 October but at this point, those dates don’t appear to hold any significance. If you’re interested in seeking out the poster, it’s located at the Weazel Dorset theatre on Dorset Drive, Rockford Hills. I wonder what other secrets Rockstar are hiding in plain sight.
