Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to play Starfield for £1 when it launches in September.

Thousands of Xbox and PC players are patiently awaiting the release of Starfield, which promises to be Bethesda’s biggest title yet, featuring a vast galaxy of 1,000 planets, a 40 hour main story and plenty to see and interact with.

While recent Xbox exclusives like Halo Infinite have left a lot to be desired amongst fans, Starfield is looking like it’ll be the exception, with more and more hype building every day. It’s even made a few headlines amidst the Microsoft V FTC case, as the FTC have used the game as evidence to suggest Xbox is trying to push its competitor, Sony, out of the market with additional exclusives.

Some PlayStation fans have even campaigned to have the game changed to be a PS5 exclusive rather than an Xbox one, launching a petition that has gone absolutely nowhere, but has been incredibly funny to watch crash and burn.

It’s so highly anticipated that even elderly gamers joining the fun, who plan to play the game during their retirement. Other players are planning to take a few sneaky sick days off work to play, and some are even buying brand new Xbox consoles to mark the special occasion.

Luckily, if you’re an Xbox Game Pass member, you’ll be able to play Starfield on day one at no additional cost, and a special offer will bag you a month’s membership for just £1.

That’s right, Xbox will once again be granting a month of Xbox Game Pass to console and PC users, for the low, low price of £1. This will allow players to access the ever-expanding game catalogue, online multiplayer, exclusive discounts and more, as well as play a number of new releases on launch day, some of which can be pre-installed, like Starfield itself.

Admittedly, one month of Starfield for £1 is a pretty sweet deal, though given the enormous scope of the game, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to explore everything it's galaxy has to offer in 30 days or less…
