God Of War Ragnarök is being spoiled by players' own PS5 consoles

Trust no one, not even your console.

God of War Ragnarök is, nearly without contest, one of the most anticipated games of the last few years and it's finally out in the wild. Players are desperately trying to sidestep spoilers, and it turns out that they might pop up in a totally unexpected place: their PlayStation 5 consoles.

Well, that's a betrayal on a deific level. LifeHacker states that the PS5 will automatically follow God of War Ragnarök for those who have pre-ordered or wishlisted the game. Following lets the user interface promote content that it reckons the player will want to see, and in a tragic twist of fate, it's possible that it will advertise a whopping big spoiler in these images or videos.

Did you know there's this strange advert for Ragnarök where Ben Stiller plays Kratos and offers parenting advice to LeBron James and John Travolta? Now you do. Check it out below!

Do not panic. There is a way to avoid this - so hop to it if you're yet to dive into the last apocalyptic chapter of the Norse saga. Going into the Settings for the PS5, select Saved Data, then scroll to Followed Games. Enter Followed Games, select Manage Followed Games, and unfollow God of War Ragnarök. Kratos' is your uncle.

If you want to be super duper sure you won't see any spoilers on your own console (which is a bizarre statement in and of itself), go into Settings and Saved Data again, and then select to hide spoilers in the Spoiler Warnings tab.

This will hopefully let you make the most of the game, which Ewan called a "heartbreaking meditation on fate" and recommended that you really take the time to savour its side quests. In fact, the side quests in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was the bar that Sony Santa Monica set itself and it's safe to say that it delivered.
