GAMINGbible will be live-streaming a very special Minecraft world on Thursday February 3 2022, and we hope that you can join us to help raise money to support Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).
Click through to our Facebook page at 4pm GMT on February 3 2022, and you’ll find us exploring and enjoying the NVIDIA RTX Winter World - a beautifully detailed playground created as part of a fundraising partnership with GOSH charity. Artist Ushio Tokura spent over 300 hours to build the NVIDIA RTX Winter World, made up over 30 million individual Minecraft blocks spanning an incredible 155,000 square metres, making it four times larger than any real-life seasonal ‘Winter Wonderland’ event.
During the stream, GAMINGbible will have a donation button active for viewers to give money to GOSH Charity - and really, any amount will make a huge difference to the lives of seriously ill children at the hospital, their families, and the staff that care for them. Alternatively, you can donate now via this link.
We’ll be showing you around the plentiful attractions within this amazing virtual space. There’s a Christmas Village and a Santa’s Grotto - yeah, we’re a little late, but we can still enjoy some festive cheer - roller coasters, an ice rink, a petting zoo, and an actual penguin postal service. Who doesn’t want their cards full of best wishes delivered by a sea bird, honestly? The world also features a full recreation of the Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) building as well as visual references to famous Christmas films including Elf.
Using NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX GPU, the Winter World is made to look more beautiful than ever with real-time ray tracing delivering amazing visuals, from reflections and shadows to other effects. Suffice to say, you will not see another Minecraft world as stunning as this one in a long while.
NVIDIA is delighted to support GOSH Charity as the hospital celebrates its 170th anniversary in February 2022. This marks almost two centuries of transforming the lives of seriously ill children. From developing nursing training in the late 19th century and the opening of the UK’s first Leukaemia Research Unit in the 1960s, through to today’s breakthroughs in gene therapy and its pivotal role in the national management of COVID-19, GOSH has been a trailblazer in child healthcare.
Imagine how much further GOSH can go in the future with your support. By supporting GOSH Charity, you could help GOSH continue to forge ahead with pioneering breakthroughs, bringing millions of seriously ill children life-altering treatments and cures for generations to come.
The NVIDIA RTX Winter Wonderland can be downloaded here, if you want to explore its attractions for yourself - or, of course, please do join us on Facebook at 4pm GMT on February 3 2022 to go on this frosty adventure together.
