We all want to know why one of the world's biggest streamers, Dr. DisRespect, got permanently banned from Twitch - the world's biggest streaming platform - but neither party is conceding an inch.
Back in November, the streamer posted on Twitter that legally the matter had been settled, with neither party admitting to wrongdoing. However, that in no way means that his ban had been lifted, nor that he would be allowed to return to the platform in any capacity whatsoever. He is still forbidden from being seen on the streaming service, whether that is on his own channel, an alternate channel, or anyone else hosting him through their channel.
Avid watchers of streaming can take a look at some of the highs and lows of watching people live in the video below.
This is what earned chess grandmaster and Twitch streamer Hikaru Nakamura the ire of daddy Twitch. According to a report by PC Gamer, Nakamura decided to watch a video of Dr DisRespect playing chess online against Dr Lupo. Neither streamer is known in particular for their chess playing prowess and so Nakamura wanted to watch the pair play.
His chat warned him that showing footage of DisRespect was against Twitch's terms of service, however, Nakamura reportedly hit back with "Chill out you guys, you think I care. This is chess." However, it seems it doesn't matter what the good Doctor is playing, you can't promote him on the service. For this breach Nakamura was handed a three day ban.
A similar ban was handed down to Spanish streamer and The Game Awards Streamer Of The Year nominee, TheGrefg, who has almost 2million followers on the platform. Grefg hosted a talk with Bruneger, another streamer, who has been suspended from Twitch indefinitely beginning March last year for a string of minor incidences.
