The Best Line In ‘God Of War’ Didn’t Make The Final Cut

This deleted voice line from God of War is amazing, and it definitely should have made it into the final game.

God of War is an exceptional game. This we know. There's no doubt that the 2018 release is easily one of the best, if not the best (depending on who you ask) releases for the PS4, and PC players also went wild for it in January this year - it managed to rack up one million sales within two weeks of its release on Steam, despite selling 19.5 million copies on PS4 as of August 2021. Popular, then.

Kratos' adventure is full of memorable moments and iconic lines - Christopher Judge, Kratos' voice actor, did an amazing job of breathing life into the character. However, not all of his work actually made the final cut, and when you see this clip, I'm sure you'll see why that's such a shame - it's hilarious.

"I'm a f**king God of War!" Check out this incredible deleted voice line below.

It's genuinely surprising that they cut the line given the reaction it got in the studio - Danielle Bisutti, Freya's voice actor, can be heard saying: "That's amazing, I hope you guys keep that in there." Alas, they didn't, but at least we still got to hear it in a behind-the-scenes fashion.

Speaking of unused voice lines, thanks to the game coming to PC, a whole load of mods have been developed for it, including one which uses yet more scrapped dialogue from Christopher Judge, including dad jokes that the studio weren't willing to put in the final game. Also, yes, the Lamb's Cress line is in there, too. Modders really are a blessing to the gaming community.

In other God of War news, according to an insider, we could be seeing a TV adaptation of the game arriving on Prime Video sometime soon. Apparently, it's going to be developed by The Expanse creators Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, and The Wheel of Time executive showrunner Rafe Judkins, working alongside Sony Pictures Television. From Uncharted to The Last of Us, we really are getting a whole load of games put to screen lately, aren't we? Bigger than usual screens, that is. Well actually, I guess for TV adaptations, it's the same size screen? You know what I mean.
