Gaming is a wonderful thing. Despite its old stereotype of being an insular hobby, anyone who regularly plays online games will know that if anything, it’s quite the opposite - everyone has stories of friends they met in lobbies with some even forming lifelong friendships.
Recently, one Twitch streamer flew all the way to Germany from Australia to meet up with her mod who she “accidentally” fell in love with, which was far too sweet for my heart to handle. Now though, we have even more wholesomeness flooding the internet after one gamer’s girlfriend filmed his reaction to being surprised by his online friend, who he hadn't met in the six years they'd been playing together.
For even more wholesomeness, look no further than this guy who helped raise thousands of dollars for a streamer with cancer.
Posted on TikTok, stacey199171’s video shows her boyfriend walk in to greet her and his regular group of friends, when he does a huge double take and notices his online gaming friend sat amongst them. The two greeted each other with a huge hug, and got very emotional. Take a look below.
“Six years of gaming and this was their first time meeting! He deserves surprises too,” stacey199171 wrote in the video description. She added in the comments that the friend had helped her boyfriend through some tough times, so it’s understandable why their meeting meant so much to them both.

Others in the TikTok comments have been sharing their love: “This makes me genuinely happy. Good stuff! He must have been an important friend to him,” one wrote. “This has made my day. Good on you and the both of them, top blokes and cheers to them,” added another. “Absolutely class this, I’ve known people on Xbox for 10+ years and still haven’t met them, hopefully one day, but this is so wholesome, love it!” another commented.
How strange, someone must be cutting onions nearby.
