The Fallout series is not only one of Bethesda’s most beloved properties but is also a firm favourite amongst the RPG community and one of the best games to be released from the franchise is 2010’s Fallout: New Vegas.
Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, Fallout: New Vegas was originally intended to be an expansion for Fallout 3 until Bethesda decided to morph it into its own standalone game. According to How Long To Beat, players can easily spend well over 100 hours in the wastelands of Fallout: New Vegas proving that the decision for it to be its own game was the correct choice not to mention that it was well-received by fans and reviewers alike.

“As you battle your way across the heat-blasted Mojave Wasteland, the colossal Hoover Dam, and the neon-drenched Vegas Strip, you’ll be introduced to a colourful cast of characters, power-hungry factions, special weapons, mutated creatures and much more,” reads the description of the game. “Choose sides in the upcoming war or declare “winner takes all” and crown yourself the King of New Vegas in this follow-up to the 2008 videogame of the year, Fallout 3.”

It’s fair to say that the Fallout series is one of the best-supported franchises when it comes to mods. Even to this day, the likes of 2008’s Fallout 3 benefit from its ever-vibrant modding community, and Fallout: New Vegas is no exception. Created by NorthKoreaFriedChicken, the mod that is today’s topic of discussion is ‘Fallout: New Vegas Out of Bounds (Backrooms)’ and it’s available to download for free via Nexusmods.
“Out of Bounds is a DLC-sized mod for FNV that takes place in the Backrooms. In this mod you get all your stuff taken away forcing you to scavenge for resources to make weapons to fight the many entities of the Backrooms,” states the mod description “There are also settlements and quests you can do in the Backrooms such as forcing a mayor to resign, helping some crackheads take over an INN and helping the mafia.”
The ‘Out of Bounds’ mod adds a ton new new content including six near quests, 17 new weapons, over 40 new voiced characters, over 800 lines of new dialogue, six new creatures, four new settlements and much more. Unfortunately, this mod is for PC only and is not available on consoles.
Fallout: New Vegas is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. What’s more, it’s also available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers at no extra cost.
