There are a few post-apocalyptic RPGs that nail the genre quite like Bethesda's Fallout series and amongst its very best is Fallout: New Vegas.
Ever since the release of Fallout 3 in 2008, the first game under Bethesda, the Fallout series has been taken to new heights earning a legion of loyal fans but with the recent arrival of the critically acclaimed Amazon Studios live-action adaptation (just renewed for a second season), the Fallout franchise seems to be more popular than ever.

It’s mighty impressive that given the popularity of 2010’s Fallout: New Vegas, developed by Obsidian Entertainment, it initially began its life intending to be DLC to Fallout 3. Thankfully, Fallout: New Vegas mutated into its own standalone game and in turn, benefited from its series of successful DLCs.

There are many dangerous locations in the Fallout series from Capitol Building Bunkers in Fallout 3, The Glowing Sea in Fallout 4 and the Cranberry Bog in Fallout 76. Yet it seems that when it comes to having a plethora of dangerous places that a post-apocalyptic wasteland could contain, Fallout: New Vegas takes the radioactive biscuit.
Just to list a few fear-inducing locations of Fallout: New Vegas we have the likes of the Crashed Vertibird, Sierra Madre and the Northern Passage to name a few. However, perhaps the most dangerous of all is the Quarry Junction, and I’m not talking about the place in Barnsley.
The Quarry Junction in Fallout: New Vegas (not Barnsley), is a place overrun by some of the most deadly creatures in all of the Fallout series. I am of course talking about those pesky Deathclaws, so the Quarry Junction is one of the last places you’d want to visit in the game, especially if you’re new.
To welcome new players to Fallout: New Vegas, veteran players are encouraging newbies to take a cosy trip to the Quarry Junction which will inevitably result in their untimely demise, as reported by TheGamer. Like seriously, Dr. Evil of Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery would be proud.

“It seems like Fallout is becoming really popular again and to all newcomers of the series that are starting with New Vegas (good choice) I have some tips for you,” tweeted g0rejira. “There's a place called Quarry Junction where you should head ASAP to get some good starting gear!”
“If you’re playing FNV because you watched the Fallout show, Quarry Junction is the best way to get to New Vegas,” merzboymoder encouraged. “Hey, new Fallout: New Vegas players, go to Quarry Junction there's cool stuff there,” said StrangeFlower9.
By now you’ll be very aware that Quarry Junction is not a safe place but I bet you’re curious despite knowing what awaits. If you want to meet a gruesome death today, you can play Fallout: New Vegas as well as Fallout 3, Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 at no extra cost if you subscribe to Xbox Game Pass.
