The Fallout series is one of the most popular RPG franchises of all time and perhaps at the top of the list from fans as its best game might be Fallout: New Vegas.
Released in 2010 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, developed by Obsidian Entertainment, Fallout: New Vegas is arguably the most beloved entry in this ever-popular series which began in 1997. It’s even more impressive when you consider that Fallout: New Vegas was originally intended to be an expansion to Fallout 3 before Bethesda head honcho, Todd Howard and co decided to evolve it into a standalone game.

Not taking into account Fallout 76, an MMO released in 2018, the last proper single-player entry in the beloved series was Fallout 4 released in 2015, which recently benefited from its long-awaited free new-gen update for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Moreover, thanks to the launch of the critically acclaimed Fallout live-action series on Amazon Prime Video this year, not to mention the video game series offering a plethora of timeless classics, Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic wasteland has never been hotter.
What’s more, thanks can also be directed to the fantastic Fallout modding community, who continually breathe new life into the games we love and Fallout: New Vegas is no exception. One such mod is from a creator named Wombat and is called ‘Enhanced Locomotion’ available to download for free via Nexusmods.
Unlike typical mods that might improve visuals or add new story content, ‘Enhanced Locomotion’ on PC improves the animations in Fallout: New Vegas such as running, walking, jumping, climbing, sneaking and even limping.

The mod in question also makes improvements to melee and firearm weapon animation, as well as camera and body camera movement to more accurately convey motion and much more.
On first impression, these subtle improvements may seem minor in the grand scheme of things, but it’s these kinds of subtle improvements that are arguably more important than most, as they make the player experience with this classic RPG more modern and immersive.
Fallout: New Vegas is currently available with Xbox Game Pass.
