Who needs Fallout 5 right? (It’s a way of coping). Not us! That’s why one upcoming RPG made in Unreal Engine 5 is set to be the next big thing and I am quite excited.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is an upcoming post-apocalyptic open-world RPG from GSC Game World and it is set to be released between January-March 2024. Set in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, you will find yourself face-to-face with swarms of dangerous enemies and anomalies and it is up to you to defeat them and uncover powerful artifacts.
“Chornobyl Exclusion Zone has changed dramatically after the second massive explosion in year 2006” the official Steam synopsis reads. “Violent mutants, deadly anomalies, warring factions have made the Zone a very tough place to survive. Nevertheless, artifacts of unbelievable value attracted many people called S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s, who entered the Zone for their own risk striving to make a fortune out of it or even to find the Truth concealed in the Heart of Chornobyl.”

You will take on the role of a lone stalker as you make your way through the Zone to define your destiny in a world where every choice you make has a consequence. With a branching non-linear story, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl can lead to several endings but whether you make it there is a different story as you will need to conquer hunger, sleep-deprivation, injuries and radiation effects.
Made in Unreal Engine 5 and featuring photorealistic graphics, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be scarily realistic and battling other humans and anomalies with different behaviour models will require a lot of brain power. Luckily, you can team up with other factions and search for the most valuable artifacts the Zone has to offer.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is already available to pre-purchase and the title will be gaining a multiplayer shortly after release. So if you want to hunt down anomalies, battle radiation and forge your own path, this is the game for you. I’d still like Fallout 5 too though, Bethesda!
