With the success of Prime Video’s Fallout show still fresh on everybody’s minds, it is no wonder that many old and new gamers are booting up the Bethesda titles.
Released earlier this month, the much-loved RPG franchise, Fallout, saw itself getting adapted for the big screen thanks to Prime Video. The show consists of eight episodes telling the story of vault dweller Lucy who leaves the comfort of Vault 33 to search for her father.

Since its release, the show has already gone on to be considered as one of the best video game adaptations of all time, sitting with the likes of HBO’s The Last of Us. As a result of this, the long-running game series behind it has welcomed heaps of new concurrent players.

However, with many of us wanting even more from our games in 2024, a free 60FPS remaster for Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas and many other Bethesda titles is currently available. This means you can play the wasteland titles at 60fps as well as in 4K.
The FPS Boost feature for Xbox will give some of the older titles a much-needed FPS boost for both the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. However, despite the X’s power, it seems as though both a 4k and 60fps upgrade will not be possible for Fallout 4 or Fallout 76 with players needing to pick between the two.
As a result, those wishing to use the FPS Boost for those Fallout titles will need to decide between an FPS boost at 1080p graphics OR experiencing the game in 4K. We are unsure why this limitation is in place considering the Xbox Series X should be capable of it.
However, it seems as though the older Fallout titles are eligible for the boost which means that both new and old players will experience a much smoother experience.
