At this point, it feels like The Elder Scrolls VI is a meme for a video game that will never be released. I know it will be released at some point, but we have no idea when, at least officially.
The Elder Scrolls VI was revealed to the world at E3 2018 with a glorious cinematic trailer with a bird's eye view of Tamriel before it ended with its logo and a presumed release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Those watching in attendance at E3 and those at home were buzzing with excitement knowing that Bethesda will soon release the next entry in the popular fantasy RPG series or so they thought.

It’s now been six years since The Elder Scrolls VI was revealed to the world and we’ve seen nothing since, no gameplay, no release date, sweet nothing. The lack of news about the next entry in The Elder Scrolls series has even left fans concerned that it might not be released during this console generation.

However, a recent Starfield update has given fans at least a small glimmer of hope that news on the development progress of The Elder Scrolls VI may be near. That being said, I think we fans are just clinging to every little bit of hope we can find right now until Bethesda provides a proper update on the highly anticipated sequel.
While fans wait for news of when The Elder Scrolls VI will arrive, fans are roasting the announcement trailer on YouTube. “A few years more and we will be Elder Scrolls too,” replied myself3209.
“We're approaching the 6th anniversary of this trailer. Starfield didn't do very well and now everyone wants a new Fallout game because of the show. We're never getting this game,” exclaimed adspongy301.
“Almost six years ago is diabolical,” said a frustrated Kaliburrrr. “Why release this 10 years before the game MIGHT even be ready,” commented shwiftt9925.

“If they don't show us something on the 6th anniversary of this teaser then we are cooked,” a concerned christophermunoz4774 wrote.
Hopefully, Bethesda will reveal new details on The Elder Scrolls VI soon but it could be safe to assume that an update might not arrive this year. At this point, it’s now expected to be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, if we’re lucky.
