The Elder Scrolls 6 trailer has fans lamenting game's release window

The Elder Scrolls 6 trailer has fans lamenting game's release window

Patience is running thin

If you don’t laugh, you’ll cry.

The Elder Scrolls VI’s original teaser trailer is now as old as Skyrim was when the teaser was first released at E3 - may it rest in peace - in 2018.

Reddit user RoboPup was the one who, in recent days, spotted that Skyrim was 2,403 days old when the TES VI teaser was dropped, the same number of the days that have now passed since that, well, day.

That equates to six years, seven months, and three days for those of you yearning for an additional breakdown.

It’s not actually that fact that’s got fans up in arms though, nuh uh.

It’s that despite the astounding milestone, The Elder Scrolls VI’s release date still remains a very intangible thing.

When will we finally see more than this simple landscape?

We’ve known for some time that The Elder Scrolls VI will follow Starfield, and the fact that no further expansions for Starfield have been announced beyond the already available Shattered Space bodes well.

If Bethesda is ready to shift manpower away from Starfield, then that’ll naturally speed up development on The Elder Scrolls VI.

The only problem is that we have no real idea of where the title is within its cycle.

Development could be well underway, in which case a 2027 launch date may not be a ludicrous suggestion.

If Bethesda didn’t hit the ground running though until after Starfield’s release, well, we could be looking at something much nearer to 2030 - a possibility fans are sadly well aware of.

“I’m in my 40s and I’m getting to the point where I’m curious at how many Elder Scrolls and GTA games I’ll have in my lifetime. I suspect I won’t live to see number nine of these franchises,” wrote Reddit user ShawnyMcKnight.

“Crazy how I used to think TES VI would come out in a very distant year like 2022,” added Sklain.

“It’s been 84 years,” joked EFPMusic, while TheBishopDeeds remarked, “I think it's crazier to just say it'll almost be two decades from Skyrim to VI.”

Let’s simply hope that 2025 is the year we finally receive an update, even if it’s a crumb of one.
