Those of you desperate to get your hands on Bethesda’s upcoming sixth installment in The Elder Scrolls series will doubtlessly be thankful to know that the developer has just released a new title in the franchise.
The Elder Scrolls: Castles is a free-to-play mobile title and it’s an official release from Bethesda themselves.
Fans of Fallout Shelter will immediately see the similarities between the two titles, but instead of vaults The Elder Scrolls: Castles is geared more towards managing… well, castles.

For anyone scratching their heads at this post and swearing that this game had already been released, you’d be right - as this is actually the full, worldwide release of The Elder Scrolls: Castles.
The game was previously released in an early access capacity back in early 2023 in the Philippines, and was then later released in both Sweden and Norway in February 2024.
On the official The Elder Scrolls: Castles site, Bethesda explain that the title will allow players to “customise” their castles “from the ground up, adding and expanding rooms, placing lavish decorations and inspirational monuments, and even assign subjects to workstations to ensure your castle has the resources to thrive for years to come!”
The general response to the game has been pretty positive overall too, as it currently sits at a 4.6 out of 5 rating on the Apple App Store and a 4.3 out of 5 rating on the Google Play store.

There’s also a brand new launch trailer that Bethesda revealed yesterday if you’re still unconvinced however.
For those of you who aren’t avid mobile gamers, unfortunately you’ll have to wait until the game is ported to either consoles or PCs in the future.
Given the success Fallout Shelter saw when it was ported to consoles, it’s likely that the game will see releases on other platforms at some point.
