Can you believe we're getting a new Elden Ring game in 2025? I know I can't.
Not content with a GOTY-winning first game and GOTY-nominated expansion, it seems FromSoftware has much more planned for us. Elden Ring: Nightreign is a brand new adventure set in The Lands Between with more of a focus on dungeon crawling and multiplayer co-op. Bloodborne fans everywhere probably screamed up a lung when it was announced.
But that's not coming until 2025, and I'd assume late 2025 at that. What's an Elden Ring fan in search of new adventure to do in the meantime?

Easy! Check out the The Convergence; a massive mod that completely overhauls the vanilla experience to offer players something new.
Created by CouchJockey and an enormous team, The Convergence is "an exhaustive overhaul of Elden Ring with dozens of new weapons, hundreds of new spells, extensively revamped areas and maps."
The Convergence also brings "improved visuals, new enemies and bosses," as well as a raft of new features and smaller tweaks to create a smoother adventure, making it a decidedly new experience that almost borders on sequel. Obviously not quite as impressive as Shadow Of The Erdtree, but a hugely admirable piece of work from fans working in their spare time.
It won't come as a huge surprise to learn The Convergence is one of the most popular mods for Elden Ring, so if you've yet to check it out maybe now is the time to right that particular wrong.

I should stress you can't use your standard characters by default, however; you'll have to import them manually. The mod's developers do recommend you start a new game with a modded character to prevent any bugs or instability.
