As with any other FromSoftware title, especially one that follows on from the story of Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree offered players a healthy dose of brand-new lore as well as further explanations on some of the mysteries found within the base game.
However, for players who managed to beat the game’s excruciating difficulty and get to the final boss, they soon discovered that, despite them being a familiar face, they didn’t seem to want to welcome an old friend and remained silent throughout the fight.
Now, according to one player who checked the internal files of the DLC, this was not always supposed to be the case.
For context, the final boss fight will see players face a bigger and better Radahn who has now been imbued with magic.

Almost like a puppet, he will attempt to kill the player in utter silence but according to these findings by LaMi_1 over on r/EldenRingLoreTalk, FromSoftware did originally record lines with him but they were cut for unknown reasons.
He would have said: "I am Radahn. Born of red-maned Radagon, and Rennala of the Full Moon. A lion bred for battle."
Although this is quite generic dialogue, many fans still agree that it would have still been nice to hear and are unsure why FromSoftware would cut it.
However one fan may have the answer when they said: “They may have cut it because it just wasn't impressive or important enough. It's very generic dialogue and Radahn never spoke, so him saying something meh might lose the impact. It's like how people prefer for 'mute' characters like Link to never speak.”

We may never know why this dialogue was cut but it is interesting to know there could be more unreleased dialogue out there.
