If you’re looking for another excuse to play Elden Ring, this is it - a PC overhaul mod taking inspiration from the cursed world of Bloodborne.
FromSoftware’s latest ‘soulsborne’ title, Elden Ring, continues to be a monumental success, with millions of tarnished warriors conquering The Lands Between to become the Elden Lord. The game has somewhat taken on a life of its own, even spawning its own legends such as the mythical player Let Me Solo Her. It’s also got a dedicated modding community, with one team in particular, Garden of Eyes, generating some wild creations such as their latest overhaul mod that takes a lot of inspiration from another popular FromSoftware title, Bloodborne.
Take a look at some more Elden Ring mods below, although these are of the cursed variety.
The overhaul mod, which is currently in early-access but will become free upon release, adds a wide range of changes and improvements to the game - one of which is an entirely new boss, and its design has Bloodborne’s signature ‘Eldritch terror’ written all over it. Oedon, Lord of Cosmic Blood, is essentially a heavily altered version of the final boss of the game, the Elden Beast, and comes equipped with new ways of killing the player, as well as a slick new redesign.

The mod also comes with its own lore, expanding on what we already know about the Elden Ring universe, and linking it to the separate universe of Bloodborne (though many still theorise Dark Souls, Demon Souls, Bloodborne and Elden Ring are all linked in some way). To keep it brief, Oedon is what Elden Ring would call an ‘Outer God’ - beings who get repeatedly referenced in the story but are yet to appear in the flesh. The lore for the mod states Oedon used its power to communicate with the Bloodborne universe, syphoning the dark energy found there to become horrifically powerful.
It sounds like Garden of Eyes is making something truly special here, so it’ll be exciting to see what else can be found when the mod goes to public access. Mods like these are also a great way to pass the time while we wait for FromSoftware’s next adventures, like Armoured Core VI and the upcoming Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Edtree.
