The file size for Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree has been revealed by a reliable insider, and it's fairly big when directly compared to other titles from developer FromSoftware.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree reportedly weights in at 16.5GB on PS5, which when directly compared to the previous title from FromSoftware is actually larger than that entire title. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice weighed in at 12.5GB before any patches were applied to the title, and even after it eventually received patches to both add content to the game and fix various elements of the game, that game only weighed in at 18GB overall.
Meanwhile over on Steam, the entirety of Dark Souls 3 weighs in at only 25GB, meaning the DLC for Elden Ring is almost as big as the entirety of Dark Souls 3, a game that already is one of the biggest Dark Souls games (and indeed one of the bigger games that FromSoftware has made in recent years).

After first being announced last February, and first receiving a trailer earlier this year that showed off what fans can expect from the expansion itself, the DLC launches in just over two weeks, and promises to add more than ten new bosses for players to be absolutely squashed by over the course of between thirty and forty hours overall. According to early previews, there's more than 100 new weapons and eight brand new weapon types for players to experiment with over the course of their time with the game. Of course, this is merely scratching the surface of what to expect from the DLC, and there's likely a lot more that previews couldn't yet discuss, but if you really want to know what to expect from the upcoming expansion, you can read the preview from our very own Ewan Moore.
