Dying Light studio teases new Unreal Engine 5 game

Dying Light studio teases new Unreal Engine 5 game

A busy few years for the studio

The studio behind survival horror Dying Light seemingly have a busy few years coming up according to a recent job listing discovery.

Most known for Dying Light and its sequel as well as the Call of Juarez series, Techland has managed a name for itself over the past few years.

However, with Dying Light 2 reportedly seeing the team make $25 million in losses, it seems as though the studio will have to turn its attention elsewhere.

Luckily, that seems to be exactly what it is doing with recent reports revealing that it could be working on an impressive three brand-new titles.

More recently, Techland announced Dying Light: The Beast, a standalone title set in the Dying Light universe.

On top of that, the studio is reportedly working on a brand-new fantasy IP.

Although we don’t yet know too much about this one yet, it will be a far cry from its previous releases.

However, a recent job listing has revealed that a second new IP may be on the cards for the studio.

The job listing is searching for a Level Artist who will “be moving mountains, raising cities and breathing life into in-game locations”.

According to Techland, “this position is for a new IP, in addition to Dying Light and the fantasy game.”

Not only that but the listing reveals that the untitled game will be made using Unreal Engine 5.

This will be the first time the studio will dive into the world of Unreal Engine 5 as it has previously relied on its C-Engine.

As well as a Level Artist, the studio is also looking for a Character Artist who must “understand human anatomy” as well as a UE5 AI Game Programmer who specialises in FPP games.

Although that is all we know so far about Techland’s third project, it seems as though the studio is set for a busy few years.

Here’s hoping it will be a success!
