Capcom revealed the first gameplay for the upcoming Dragon’s Dogma II during the recent PlayStation Showcase event.
The original Dragon’s Dogma was released in 2012 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, before receiving ports on PS4, Xbox One as well as the Nintendo Switch. The original game was by no means perfect, but the potential was clear to see, so hopefully the sequel will live up to the expectations of the fans.

Dragon’s Dogma II was first teased by Capcom in May 2021, so it’s been quite a long time coming, but now we’ve finally been treated to some gameplay. The sequel will be powered by the RE Engine, which is used for the likes of Resident Evil 2 remake, Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4 remake, and more.
Dragon’s Dogma II not only promises improved visuals and performance over the original game but also enhanced AI resulting in a “truly immersive fantasy world”.
The trailer was packed full of mythical creatures such as Medusa, a Griffin, Dragon and more. The visuals looked beautiful with a gorgeous open world. Sadly, there will be no co-op. The sequel will once again be a single player action RPG with Pawns returning as your co-op partners.
A post on the official Dragon's Dogma II website says that players: "can enjoy free adventures in the world of royal road fantasy. A variety of actions that meet the imagination of the player, and a game experience where you can enjoy the “fun of adventuring with someone else '' even though you play alone. It's an open-world action with its own play value..”

At the time of writing, Capcom has not announced the release date, but hopefully, we’ll get that elusive date in the coming months.
The exact platforms haven't been revealed by Capcom, but it’s probably a safe assumption to make that Dragon’s Dogma II will be released for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
