Yesterday saw developer CD Projekt Red release its Q1 2024 earnings report which gave us a big insight into the future of Cyberpunk 2077.
It has been an exciting year for CD Projekt Red after the mounting success of its 2020 title Cyberpunk 2077. Just this month saw the futuristic RPG reach an “overwhelmingly positive” rating on Steam for the first time since release and now we know what the future holds for the franchise.

The Q1 2024 earnings report not only gave us an insight into Cyberpunk 2 but also gave us news on Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 4 and other projects CD Projekt Red is in the middle of.

Although it appears that for the first time in a decade, there is nobody working on Cyberpunk 2077, we do now know that Cyberpunk 2, codenamed Project Orion, currently has 56 developers working on as of 30 April 2024.
Even though this is a stark contrast to the 407 developers working on The Witcher 4, currently known as Project Polaris, it is still exciting to see that Cyberpunk 2 is already being worked on in earnest.
However, there is not much known about the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel as of yet other than that it will not have any micro-transactions and the narrative director for Cyberpunk 2077 and Project Orion, Igor Sarzyński, said back in January that he “couldn't be more excited for this project and I'm sure we can make it something special. 2077 was just a warm-up."
With development only just starting, it may be many years until we see Cyberpunk 2 but after the disastrous launch of the first title, many fans will be happy to wait.

Additionally, the report reveals that a small percentage of CD Projekt Red developers are also working on Hadar, a new IP many of us are interested to hear more about.
