Cyberpunk 2077 fans urged to check out free game they've under 24 hours to download

GO. PLAY. THIS. GAME.

Cyberpunk 2077 and Mirror's Edge are maybe two of the coolest and most stylish looking games ever made. So it stands to reason a game that is essentially a combination of the two would be pretty damn cool, right?

Well... yeah. Ghostrunner 2 is that game, and it absolutely slaps. Better yet, it's currently completely free to download and keep forever, but you really don't have long.

Ghostrunner 2 was one of 2023's best surprises, but it rather got lost in the noise of a year that also contained Baldur's Gate 3, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and a new Zelda game. Sometimes things do be that way.

If you've never played it, it's essentially a tough-as-nails action-platformer that combines the first-person parkour of Mirror's Edge with the gritty future dystopia of Cyberpunk 2077. It's fast, bloody, brutal, and utterly captivating. I seriously can't recommend this game enough at the best of times, but now it's free? You'd be a fool to miss out on this.

Ghostrunner 2 is available to download and keep forever via the Epic Games Store until 4pm (GMT) today, so you really don't have long to claim it. Like, stop reading this and go, please. The last two paragraphs are probably just waffle anyway. You're not missing anything.

In my review at the time, I wrote: "at its very best Ghostrunner 2 taps into that classic old-school gaming mentality of pushing as hard as possible to get the best times in a level, and of telling yourself you’ll have just one more go at a tricky level before looking up at the clock and realising it’s 2am.

"While some of the game’s larger arenas work against its inherently precise mechanics, this is largely everything you could’ve wanted from the sequel. And seriously, those bike levels go hard."
