Crimson Desert Free Update Fixes Huge Problem Fans Have Had Since Launch

Finally, the latest free update for Crimson Desert has fixed a major issue for gamers, making the experience even better than it was before.
Crimson Desert is one of the most hyped games of this year, and for many, it’s more than filled that void while we wait for The Elder Scrolls VI. However, what started as an alternative to Bethesda’s long-awaited fantasy RPG, Crimson Desert now stands in its own right as one of the most fun games of 2026.
At launch, while millions were having a blast with Crimson Desert, it was by no means a perfect game, and to be fair, what truly is? Responding to mass fan feedback, the developers at Pearl Abyss have worked tirelessly to improve the game with a plethora of updates and the latest, arguably the best, is available to download right now.
The latest free patch adds one of the most requested features to Crimson Desert, and that’s being able to mount tons of new creatures in Pywel.

This patch adds an Extraction feature to recover materials used in refinement, special mounts, a Display Sheath option, Night Tone Mode, and more.

The new mountable creatures in Crimson Desert include:
Elsewhere in the update, players can now recover materials used in gear, which makes it much easier and faster to craft and upgrade items. There’s a new night mode that makes the visuals a little less straining on your eyes when playing in a darkened room. The update also includes new combat skills, improved character animations, and a lot more.
All in all, it’s yet another example of Pearly Abyss going the extra mile to ensure that players are having the best time possible with Crimson Desert.
