It looks as if Call Of Duty is returning to Steam for the first time in over five years, if a recently leaked piece of marketing is anything to go by.
Back in 2017, Call Of Duty: Black Ops IIII was released on Activision Blizzard's own Battle.net launcher rather than Steam, a trend that continued with Modern Warfare, Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, and Vanguard. However, it looks like this pattern might finally be over.

As spotted by Reddit user Kalinine, a piece of art for the recently revealed Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was floating around on Steam before being swiftly removed. While this could have been a mistake, the assumption is that 2022's Call Of Duty will be available via Valve's digital storefront.

Activision wouldn't be the first company to put its games back on Steam after a hiatus. Back in 2020, EA put most of its biggest games back on the platform after a lengthy break. And with the Activision Blizzard/Microsoft deal getting closer to being finished, it'd make sense for Activision to follow Microsoft's lead of adding more of its games to Steam.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is launching October 28, so we won't have long to wait to find out exactly which platforms and storefronts the game will be available on.
