Aspects of the rumoured Bully 2 was turned into Red Dead Redemption 2, that’s according to a leaker that spoke to the project lead on the game.
Rumours of Bully 2 have been around for years, and we doubt that they’ll be going away anytime soon. Depending on what rumours you read, the development of Bully 2 reportedly began in 2009. Unfortunately, developer Rockstar Games shifted its focus away from the Bully sequel, to GTA V and then RDR2.
In 2019, rumours claimed that the development of Bully 2 had started, but was eventually scrapped. It was also reported that not only was a script written for the sequel, but some part of the game was playable. Yet, contradictory to reports, in 2022, an insider claimed that Bully 2 was still in development.

However, YouTuber SWEGTA, claims to have spoken to an unnamed developer, believed to be a project lead on Bully 2. The mystery developer shared some extra details on the illusive game.
While you're here, why not settle in for some incredible wins and fails from Red Dead Redemption 2:
The insider claims that Bully 2 would have been set in an American summer camp. What’s more, backing up previous reports, it is claimed that six to eight hours of the game was playable. What’s more, while not finalised, the open world was “fully rendered” as well as being “fully realised.” Additionally, it also featured 16 fully developed missions.

The details didn't stop there, because Bully 2 would allow you to interact with pets as well as form acquaintances in-game. Interacting with pets was a feature that made its way into Red Dead Redemption 2.
Players were also able to form factions. However, if the player was to act in a way that your faction disapproved of, they could kick you out of the group. Furthermore, Bully 2 was said to feature a much more in-depth good vs evil-inspired Mass Effect morality system. I suppose this may have been similar to the Honor system in Red Dead Redemption and its sequel.
Sadly with Rockstar Games putting all hands on deck in preparation for the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, Bully 2 might not ever get to see the light of day. If that were the case, it would surely be a crime against gaming.
