It is hard to believe that we are rapidly approaching the 20-year anniversary of BioShock being released as fans, such as myself, remember entering Rapture for the first time like it was just yesterday.
However, that is the case with BioShock first launching way back in 2007 with its sequel, BioShock 2 in 2010 and finally the third instalment, BioShock Infinite in 2013.
Check out the trailer for BioShock: The Collection below!
Since then, the future of the series has become a bit of a tricky subject as, despite BioShock 4’s development being announced back in 2019, we are yet to hear anything else about the supposed project.

As a result, fans of the first-person shooter have had to rely on multiple playthroughs and remasters, such as BioShock: The Collection which was released in 2016.
However, it seems as though one fan has gone above and beyond to breathe life back into the original game courtesy of an Unreal Engine 5 reimagining.
Taking the assets from BioShock, Youtuber noodlespagoodle released a fan-made trailer that not only shows us what the game could look like almost 20-years on but also gives us a completely reimagined side story with new characters, lore, and locations.
The 3-minute trailer shows us Rapture and although it looks a lot more modernised graphic-wise, it still has all the hallmarks of one of the most iconic locations in gaming.

From the ocean beyond the windows to the manic splicers and familiar radio sounds, it feels like going home despite noodlespagoodle creating a brand-new story.
It seems that I am not the only one who is impressed as comments over on r/Bioshock soon started flooding in.
“I… I’m speechless,” one user wrote.
“It’s beautiful, and everything I hope for in BioShock 4. Everything is so smooth and realistic, like I could reach in and touch the walls and see every scratch and bullet ding in them.”

Another said: “This is all I want. F**k an open-world BioShock 4.”
Although just a fan project, this gives us a glimpse into what BioShock 4 could be… if it is ever released that is.
