It's well known that the RPG trilogy for Assassin's Creed - Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla - were big, chunky games, but even fans think it takes too long to complete.
How Long To Beat says that to be a completionist of the game takes a little over 144 hours which probably doesn't take into consideration the amount of time players stop to look around at the scenery, take screenshots and occasionally fail challenges. That's a lot of hours.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a big ol' beast of a game
When one player took to Reddit to ask whether they should persist in playing Assassin's Creed Valhalla saying "I can see how many people find it a bit repetitive. Is it worth powering through? Or should I just leave it? I’d rather leave it after 10 hours, compared to 50."

This sparked many players discussing how many hours they put into the game, with many stating that it was too long to even finish. Some even wondered if it was worth the time spent, like u/XxSweetRevengexX who said "140 some hours for 100% trophies including DLC. Was not fun."
Most, like u/BradleyAllan23 say to "Play until you're not having fun, then stop." Others claim they put in 20-30 hours before putting the game down and coming back many months later to finish it off. One player says they put in 200 hours and still had the Siege of Paris DLC to go, while others simply agreed that the game is far too long, "In my opinion yes. Each territory had so many padding missions for the sake of it. So many stupid fetch quests that added 0 to the story."
Beyond those complaints of the game being too long, a large number of Redditors still insist they enjoyed the game, but admit that it could be shorter. The best advice seemed to be to focus on the story and try to ignore side missions.
