Ubisoft’s creative director for Assassin’s Creed Shadows just revealed some juicy info about the game, like for instance how long it’ll take you to beat it.
Thank you in advance to Catherine Lewis over on Gamesradar+ for initially spotting this one!
Over on the r/assassinscreed subreddit, several of the key developers for Assassin’s Creed Shadows held an “Ask Me Anything” style questions and answers thread where they discussed a lot of the key details about the upcoming game.

One of the commentators in the thread asked the team about the game’s length, which the team was more than happy to reveal.
“The length of the game is always hard to evaluate in an open world game as different players will have very different ways to consume the content,“ replied Jonathan Dumont, Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ creative director.
“I think Shadows' main journey is comparable to Origins/Odyssey and Valhalla. As for choices, they are present, and some have an impact but play less of a branching role than on Odyssey on the core narrative.”
Take a look at the game in action below.
As Catherine Lewis pointed out, this is kind of a weird statement.

I remember Assassin’s Creed Origins took me about 25 to 30 hours to complete, whereas I believe I was around the 45-hour mark before I gave up on Assassin's Creed Valhalla (which apparently takes most folks around 60 hours to 100% on average).
So, I guess we’re looking at somewhere around 30 to 60 hours? Bit of a huge variance there but sure.
Dumont also divulged some details about one of Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ new features, Canon Mode.
“Since the fan base is divided on branching dialogues, we have incorporated an option called CANON MODE which allows you to play the game with choices already made for you, to give you a choice free experience.”

Honestly, that might save a bit of time by itself if you’re anything like me. I swear I spend more time pondering dialogue options than actually playing games these days…
