Spanning over a decade, Assassin's Creed has taken players to the Crusades, Renaissance Italy, Istanbul, the Caribbean, London, Greece, Norway and England. What a bargain. But it's a difficult decision to say which one of the 24 titles is the best. Just joking. It's clearly Origins.
Assassin's Creed Origins had a mission to fulfil. Syndicate's sales weren't where Ubisoft wanted them to be and Unity was a shambling, shuffling mess. There was also the overarching feeling that the series was becoming stale while still meeting fans in the middle for the future of Assassin's Creed might be. Impressively enough, Origins managed it.

Following Bayek of Siwa, the tragic loss of his son is one cog in a massive conspiracy ticking over in the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt. Abubakar Salim's performance as the central character was celebrated and the combat offered an actual challenge, with battles against a beautiful backdrop of a meticulous recreation of ancient Egypt.

The world of Origins was recognised as a valuable representation of this locale at this long lost period of time and academics praise the game for acting as a learning opportunity for those at all ages.
