Everyone’s favourite Assassin’s Creed protagonist Ezio Auditore da Firenze has just randomly popped up in a non-Ubisoft video game, alongside Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Fujibayashi Naoe and Assassin's Creed Syndicate’s Jacob Frye.
Thank you in advance to IGN's Rebekah Valentine for the original source!
Last night at the ID@Xbox Showcase, we got two surprise announcements in one.
Advert
First things first: Balatro is coming to Xbox Game Pass.
If you’re an Xbox Game Pass subscriber and you’ve yet to play Balatro, consider this your opportunity to play one of the best games of last year.
If Balatro managed to stay off your radar for this long, then take it from me (a man who has invested a frankly embarrassing amount of time into this poker rougelike), there’s a reason this one got nominated for Game of the Year.
Assassin's Creed Shadows will finally launch next month.
The second part of the announcement was that the latest, fourth “Friends of Jimbo” update for Balatro just went live, and it features crossovers with Bugsnax, Civilization, Slay the Princess, Dead by Daylight, Critical Role, Rust, Fallout, and, you guessed it, Assassin's Creed.
Advert
The Friends of Jimbo updates are little freebies for the game that add custom artwork to the cards, and the Assassin’s Creed one adds Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Fujibayashi Naoe, Assassin's Creed Syndicate’s Jacob Frye, and Assassin’s Creed II’s Ezio to the spade suit.
Honestly, Balatro has had some impressive crossovers already, but this one really puts into perspective how big this game has become. Free Assassin’s Creed and Fallout content in one update? When’s the last time a game got anything on that level of crossover, for free?
The new update seems to be live on all systems too, so feel free to jump in and customise your deck to your heart’s content.
Just don’t blame me when you blink and suddenly your entire day has disappeared.
