It is set to be a busy few years for Ubisoft with the company due to release at least five more major entries in the Assassin’s Creed series. For one, Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, it looks as though we can expect it a lot sooner than we originally thought.
Assassin’s Creed Codename Red is just one of many entries we can expect in the future of the long-running action-adventure series. With the title rumoured to be set in Feudal Japan and possibly feature a protagonist based upon the historical figure Yasuke, the first samurai without Japanese heritage, the entry is highly anticipated for many Assassin's Creed fans.

Although we are yet to receive an official release date from Ubisoft or even an official title, Ubisoft Partner and content creator BunnyTheVillain has recently claimed that she has some insider information about Codename Red.

Bunny took to Twitter to share her information which included news that the world premiere trailer would be released in May 2024 with the game’s official release dropping in November 2024. Not only that but she claims Codename Red will be the “most enjoyable game in the franchise” and that fans can also expect the gameplay showcase to be revealed at Ubi Forward in July 2024. “Info came to me by a trusted source and I wanted to share it with you,” she concluded.
It goes without saying but it is worth taking this information with a grain of salt as Ubisoft is yet to confirm this news. However, the dates do line up with the company’s usual practices so it won’t hurt to have some hope that we could see Codename Red later this year.
Additionally, if a November 2024 release date is correct, Codename Red will arrive just over a year after the release of the latest Assassin’s Creed entry, Mirage. Our very own Sam Cawley called it a “leap of faith that sticks the landing” in his review.
