Action Adventure Game Of The Year - Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6
Also nominated: Star Wars Outlaws, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
It might come as a surprise to see a Call Of Duty game take the crown here, and I expect some gamers will be a little sniffy about it. But the fact is Black Ops 6 delivered one of the best campaigns in recent memory, and it deserves its flowers.
Here's what we had to say about Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 in our review:
"I went into the campaign of Black Ops 6 hopeful, but sceptical. It’s easy to get caught up in the pre-release hype and sometimes that can lead to disappointment. Thankfully, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is a blast from start to finish, and provides some of the best moments that this series has to offer. I hope Black Ops 6 is indicative of a long-overdue upturn in quality for the series. If it is, Call of Duty fans have every reason to be excited about what the future may hold."

RPG of The Year: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Also nominated: Metaphor Refantazio, Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Dragon's Dogma 2, Dragon Age: The Veilguard
In a year full of really incredible RPGs, it's a testament to the quality and scope of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth that it can come out on top.
In a 10/10 review we named it one of the very best games of the year, and it would seem you guys agree. This a sweeping adventure filled with memorable characters, stunning vistas, and epic boss battles. It's everything a Final Fantasy game should be, and Square Enix on top form.

Indie Game of The Year: Balatro
Also nominated: Neva, Thank Goodness You're Here, UFO50, Lorelei And The Laser Eyes
There are two kinds of people: those that don't see the appeal of Baltaro, and those that have played Balatro. This indie debut is one of the most fiendishly hard to put down video games I've ever played. I try to avoid calling video games addictive because of the negative connotations, but finishing a run in Balatro is an incredible high that you'll chase again and again.
There's a reason Balatro cleaned up at The Game Awards, and a reason we loved it when we reviewed it. It's a banger, and this is well deserved.

Narrative of The Year: Silent Hill 2
Also nominated: Metaphor Refantazio, Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6, Lorelei And The Laser Eyes, Dragon Age: The Veilguard
We can't pretend that when the Silent Hill 2 remake was first announced we weren't among the many fans concerned Bloober Team was handling it. With a shaky track record in horror, we weren't sure whether they could handle such a well-regarded and highly sensitive story.
Fortunately, we were so wrong. Silent Hill 2 is an absolute masterpiece, and one of the best remakes we've ever seen. This new release allows an entirely new generation of gamers to experience the twists and turns that left us shook all those years ago.

Most Anticipated Release: GTA 6
Also nominated: Atomfall, Fable, Monster Hunter Wilds, Ghost Of Yotei
Of course it was GTA VI. It was never going to be anything else, was it? What else even is there for me to say here? GTA VI is going to be absolutely massive, and this is but one of many, many awards it's going to win in the next few years.

Ultimate Game of The Year: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Also nominated: Balatro, Astro Bot, Dragon's Dogma 2, Metaphor Refantazio
I'll be honest, I was a little surprised by this one. In a year where everyone - the GAMINGbible team included - is fawning over Astro Bot, I really thought the PlayStation-exclusive platformer would clean up.
It's quite nice, then, to see our readers go a slightly different route and pick Final Fantasy VII Rebirth; a game that's more than deserving of the ultimate accolade.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is an absolutely stunning piece of work, offering up a gorgeous sandbox for us to play in and grounding it with one of the most genuinely likeable casts in any RPG ever. Yes, there's open-world busywork, but it feels a lot less like a chore when you simply get to spend more time hanging out with Cloud, Tifa, Barret, and the gang.
Throw in some truly excellent combat, terrifyingly huge boss battles, and one of the best minigames of all time in Queen's Blood, and you have a very worthy Game Of The Year winner.
