You may have heard of a video game series from Rockstar Games called Grand Theft Auto and it has an upcoming sixth entry on the way. Of course you have, we’re just pulling your leg.
Rockstar Games officially announced that GTA VI was in development in February 2022. However, thanks to those infamous gameplay leaks, we know that’s been in development since before that time. In fact, it’s believed that the development of GTA VI may have begun around ten years ago but has reportedly been rebooted more than once.

Unfortunately, ever since Rockstar Games made that announcement in February 2022, the developer has provided no further meaningful updates on Grand Theft Auto VI. This is why we’ve had to make do with endless leaks and apparent insider information.

That being said, the latest rumour suggests that the GTA VI Story Mode might be playable in co-op with another player. If true, this would be a massive deal because traditionally, Grand Theft Auto Story Modes have been single-player.
Obviously, we should take all unconfirmed rumours with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise, but considering that GTA VI reportedly has two playable protagonists, named Jason and Lucia, this one could ring true. Yet, GTA V featured three protagonists, and that was still a single-player campaign. Regardless, with GTA VI expected to be on PC and new-gen consoles, perhaps a full co-op campaign is more likely than the last entry.
“I recently made an intriguing discovery related to the GTA VI leaks, and I'm surprised that this particular aspect hasn't received much attention. While the Grand Theft Auto series (Story Mode) has traditionally been a single-player experience, the leaked clips hint at the possibility of cooperative gameplay between the two characters in GTA VI,” claimed Redditor Tobbelobben30, whose name is quite prominent amongst the GTA forum scene.
They continued: “As I delved into the leaks, I stumbled upon what appears to be a "Player Action Manager" that showcases various in-game actions available to players. You can observe this in the video where Jason toggles between prone and standing in a grey box environment. The manager consists of five different sections: "Action List," "Source States," "Action Context," "Scenarios," and "Conditional Actions." However, I believe the leaks only reveal the contents of the "Action List" section.

“In the "Action List" section, the actions are associated with a status, which appears to be based on the character's state in the game. These actions are linked to the character's behaviour during specific situations. In the leaked video, the character "Jason" is shown standing still in an open environment.”
Again, it must be stated that this report is based upon a rumour and its speculation should be taken lightly at this time, but if we can play the Story Mode of GTA VI with a friend, that news will excite millions of fans.
Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S sometime between 2024 and 2025.
