Here at GAMINGbible, we love a good bargain. It’s a good way to fill your backlog with wonderful games, particularly if there are some you’ve had your eye on for a while. With the Steam sale having just kicked off, you can grab an amazing number of brilliant games for ridiculously cheap prices.
Having spent the morning looking through the best of the bargains - and buying a few games ourselves - there are too many gaming deals to mention, but that’s not going to stop us from selecting some amazing deals for you to take advantage of on Steam.
Borderlands 2 - £3.00
Advert
Can’t beat a bit of Borderlands and this sequel is filled with ludicrous adventure, a bonkers cast of characters, and more guns than you can shake a lot of sticks at. There are so many guns that it’ll take you a while to settle on a favourite and even then it could change in 15 minutes when you open the next chest. It’s chaotic, over-the-top, and still brilliant.
Celeste - £1.67
One of the best platform games not made by Nintendo, Celeste is gorgeous in its pixel-based finery and this hides some epic gameplay moments built on tricky platforming. There’s a lot of heart here and it plays itself out through a touching story of anxiety and feeling accepted. All while climbing a mountain and navigating dangers.
Frostpunk - £2.49
Advert
Bleak tactical strategy game Frostpunk will be getting a sequel later this year, carrying on the brutal town management of a city in a new ice age. Known for its difficult decisions that could make you look like a monster of a mayor, this isn’t your typical sim game. Expect tricky scenarios and a steep but rewarding difficulty curve here.
Civilization VI - £2.49
A slightly easier and more light-hearted strategy game, Civilization VI is a journey from early man to the far future. You choose a historical leader and guide them through the centuries in order to ‘win’ via a variety of goals. There are battles and skirmishes along the way, and perhaps you’ll reach space or build one of the Wonders of the World while you’re at it.
Disco Elysium - £3.49
Advert
An epic in storytelling, Disco Elysium is a visual novel that meets a D&D-style tabletop game. With deep conversations, a surreal world in which a story of oppression and murder pushes the narrative forward, and dice rolls that can backfire on you at any moment. This is an unmissable bargain and a game that will stay with you for months. It’s gorgeous to boot and bursting with characters that leave a mark.
Hades - £8.39
Hades is the answer to so many questions. What should I play first on Steam Deck? Hades. What’s the first roguelike I should try out? Hades. What’s one of the best action games in that genre? You get the picture. With gorgeous cartoon animation and design work, a banging soundtrack, and an engaging gameplay loop that will keep you coming back, Hades is the one. And if you love it, the sequel is in early access, right now.
Elden Ring - £34.99
Advert
Everyone and their mother are currently talking about Elden Ring. It doesn’t matter that the hardcore fantasy action game came out two years ago, there’s never a bad time to play it. It just so happens that the first and only DLC is out now and people are talking about it all over again. Yes, it’s tough, yes you might cry when you lose progress, but by God, it feels so good to play. Buy it, roll your character, explore everything, and soak up the Fromsoftware masterpiece.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order - £3.49
Join Cal Kestis on a journey through the galaxy as a Jedi constantly on the run from the Empire after the killing blow of Order 66. Cal finds himself tangled up in Empire business, fighting for what’s right alongside a great cast. With some light Soulslike combat, you can have your skills tested in many lightsaber battles, punctuated by wonderful exploration that takes you to new planets and some you may recognise from the world of Star Wars. £3.49 feels like a steal for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
Cyberpunk 2077 - £24.99
Advert
Yes, yes, Cyberpunk 2077 is finally good to play. After a rocky start for CD Projekt Red, they finally got the game to a place where it can be enjoyed by all. A brilliant action-RPG from a wonderful studio, this is a game that will let you do whatever you want. You can stealth your way through it, or blast in guns ablaze. Your missions will take you all over Night City and your body modifications will help you complete them. It’s all here, along with romanceable partners, great guns, and gorgeous scenery.
KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX- £27.59
Kingdom Hearts hasn’t been on Steam for very long at all and this collection is already 31% off. Whether you’re a fan jumping over to PC or a new adventurer wanting in on the Disney crossover, this is a must-buy. Including six Kingdom Hearts games, you can see where the story started and experience lots of Disney themed levels in this outstanding RPG journey.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla - £9.99
If you like long adventures with plenty of action, then Assassin’s Creed Valhalla might just be the ticket. Gone is the more linear layout of past games, Valhalla is the third installment in what many call the RPG trilogy. Huge open world, RPG upgrading and crafting, and hundreds of quests to complete, it feels like the game goes on forever. It’s beautiful, bold, and often brilliant.
Tetris Effect - £15.49
Tetris Effect is a mind-blowing installment of a game you think you know. Sure, the gameplay hasn’t really changed - you still score points by dropping blocks and clearing lines - but when it all happens to music and sumptuous visuals, it is Tetris evolved into something fantastic. With an eclectic soundtrack, some stunning animations, and the ever-engaging gameplay that’ll keep you fighting for high scores, you’d be a fool to miss this one. It can also be played in 3D if you have the hardware.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga - £9.99
More Star Wars for you, this time of the LEGO variety. If you’ve ever played a LEGO game, you’ll know what to expect - lots of little plastic Star Wars characters messing around against a backdrop of familiar planets and telling a well-known, if slightly off-kilter, version of the Star Wars saga. The entire Skywalker Saga, in fact. Nine films over one huge game, with over 300 characters to play as, and every moment is pure joy.
Baldur’s Gate 3 - £39.99
You’re probably thinking, £40 doesn’t sound like much of a bargain. Well, think again. Baldur’s Gate 3 very rarely has a big discount, but it’s worth every penny. Whether you’re in it for the tactical D&D fighting, the epic story, or smooching the different characters, this is a fine amount to pay for one of last year’s best games. Or, just one of the best RPGs ever made. It’s filled with humour, heart, and hugs sex.
Fallout 76 - £8.74
If you’re still on the Fallout hype train after the Amazon TV show premiered earlier this year, then you should be playing Fallout 76. This is the MMORPG of the franchise, with a huge, epic world to explore with friends. There are lots of quests to complete, loot to scavenge, plus you can build your own settlement. It’s got everything a Fallout fan needs and the upcoming expansion will make it even more epic.
