We all lead busy lives and it’s hard to keep up with what’s added to our gaming subscriptions. Xbox Game Pass is always receiving new titles to try out and it’s an overwhelming experience to trawl through the catalogue for something to play.
Highlighting some of the best recently added games, we want you to know exactly what you can play and which newer titles are worth checking out via Xbox Game Pass.
Diablo IV
Advert
Arriving slightly late to Game Pass due to the Activision Blizzard purchase, Diablo IV is a brilliant ARPG filled with hundreds of quests and activities to take on. You can play as several classes of adventurer as you journey through a dark world bursting with demons and darkness. With repeatable dungeons, you can loot your way to superb character builds as you combine rare items, armour, and weapons, with a deep upgrade system for your class. It’s an engaging experience that will keep you coming back for more.
Lil Gator Game
With an old-school feel, Lil Gator Game is a delightful 3D platformer in the vein of days gone by classics like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro. This is an adorable adventure perfect for all audiences. The bright and colourful visuals accompany a wonderful soundtrack that will keep you smiling as you climb, glide, and swim your way through this bold land meeting cool animal friends. This is a “no pressure” adventure game meaning no baddies, but you can bop cardboard cutouts with your stick sword.
Botany Manor
Advert
If you prefer your games to have a chill atmosphere and not pressure you into completing chaotic missions, you should give Botany Manor some time. You play as a retired botanist who roams the gardens and halls of the titular manor growing and cultivating gorgeous plants. With plenty of great puzzles and information to digest, this will be a peaceful moment in an otherwise busy life. In our review, we said, “Botany Manor is everything you want from a plant-based puzzle game. In fact, I’d argue it exceeds expectations.”
Harold Halibut
Harold Halibut is a very unique experience in that it was developed over a decade and uses gorgeous hand-crafted stop-motion animation. You have to see it to believe it. You play as Harold, a lab assistant on an ark-like spaceship that fled the Earth to preserve the human race. With a fully voiced cast and a lovely soundtrack, this narrative adventure will sweep you off to another world as Harold ponders the concept of ‘home’.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
Advert
The story of young Jedi Cal Kestis continues on from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. In his adventures, he has crossed the galaxy in his plight to escape the darkness spreading throughout the stars as the Empire takes hold. Expect plenty of lightsaber battles, environmental puzzles, and big boss fights. Some would call this a light-Soulslike due to its combat and enemy respawning, but don’t let the potential difficulty put you off. There’s a great story in here for the Star Wars fans. In our review we said, “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is an exceptional sequel, improving on every gripe fans had with Fallen Order while adding countless new features in that’ll keep players engrossed for a long, long time.”
Another Crab’s Treasure
Brand new to Xbox Game Pass, Another Crab’s Treasure is a Soulslike with a cheeky side. You’ll be exploring the ocean as Kril, a hermit crab who is fighting against the trash filling up the ocean as it begins to spread an infection called Gunk. Powering up with techniques learned from denizens of the sea you’ll fight through kelp forests, coral reefs, sand castle cities, and even the unfathomable darkness of the deep-sea trenches. There are plenty of assist options if you don’t want a hardcore playthrough, too.
NHL 24
Advert
If you’re an ice hockey fan, the latest NHL game has hit Xbox and offers up plenty of new ways to play the sport. You can take advantage of goalie fatigue by applying offensive pressure; use the new physics-based contact to send opponents flying into the glass; or you can connect with teammates by using the new Vision Passing System. With plenty of modes to explore in NHL 24, you can play online with friends, or go it alone in the game’s career mode.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes
There’s a big old RPG waiting for you on Game Pass. Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is a spiritual successor to the Suikoden series and was the number one Kickstarter video game in 2020. A modern take on the classic Japanese RPG structure, you’ll play through a vast narrative journey meeting all kinds of heroes and villains. There’s a huge world to discover after Seign Kesling, an imperial officer, and Nowa, a boy from a small village, make friends and decide to take on an empire.
