Resident Evil 9 teased ahead of full reveal, releasing sooner than you'd think

Resident Evil 9 teased ahead of full reveal, releasing sooner than you'd think

Fans will soon enter the world of survival horror once more

Capcom hasn't announced or even officially teased when the next game in the Resident Evil series will arrive but that hasn't stopped rumours from circulating the internet and this latest rumour could be good news for fans.

Recently, other rumours claimed that Resident Evil 9 had been internally delayed by Capcom. However, on the flip side of that unfortunate news, was that Capcom were still planning on releasing a different Resident Evil game before the ninth mainline entry that may surprise fans.

Yet, the most recent rumour, this time from the reputable leaker of video game information, Dusk Golem, claims that Resident Evil 9 hasn't been delayed internally and could be released as early as January 2025. What this could mean for potential remakes of Resident Evil 5 or Resident Evil Code: Veronica remains to be seen.

On Twitter, Dusk Golem also claimed that Resident Evil 9 may be revealed soon and it has been in development for around seven years at this point. What’s more, it is claimed that not only has Resident Evil 9 had the longest development time in the series yet but it also has the biggest budget.

Dusk Golem went on to tease that more information is known about the title but rather than leaking everything under the sun, the popular leaker of information will “let Capcom do its thing and let it surprise people,” which is nice.

It’s always good news for fans to know that the next entry in Capcom’s iconic survival horror series is on the way but if Resident Evil 9 has been in development longer than any title in its illustrious history and is supported by the largest budget, that in itself could be fantastic news.

Of course, we should always take unconfirmed rumours with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. Hopefully, Capcom will make an official reveal related to the future of the Resident Evil series in the coming months.
