There are not many video game series as iconic as Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda and despite being nearly four decades old, it remains just as popular to this very day.
The Legend of Zelda series has provided so many classics over the years and even for those most devoted of fans, it can be a gruelling task having to choose one definitive entry as the absolute best. No doubt, the likes of Breath of the Wild, A Link to the Past and The Wind Waker will be top of many fan lists.

Oh, and one other entry that will be on top of many lists, is the 1998 Nintendo 64 classic, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This beloved entry also happens to be the highest-rated game on Metacritic, with a legendary score of 99.

While we have seen a fantastic remake of Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 3DS which was released in 2011, fans would love nothing more than to see a new remake for the Nintendo Switch or even the Switch 2. Sadly, there is no sign of that happening anytime soon, so fans have taken matters into their own hands.
One such fan-made remake has been showcased on the YouTube channel, LinksTea powered by Unreal Engine 5 and it looks absolutely stunning. Best of all, unlike some fan-made remakes of The Legend of Zelda series, you can actually play this one (the link is in the description of the YouTube video).
“I can’t believe how far this game has come. I’ve watched the development of it for years,” Amieee rejoiced in the comments section. “This is gorgeous and I wanna play it so bad,” exclaimed phil-f716.

Many other commenters are also calling for Nintendo to hire the services of this indie developer and to be honest, they could certainly do far worse. Hopefully, this Ocarina of Time hasn't been taken by Nintendo by the time you read this article.
The next game to be released in this series is The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom which launches on 26 September 2024 for the Nintendo Switch.
